In the 1940s and ’50s, Argentina rivaled Mexico in film production for Spanish-speaking audiences, but Argentinean films mostly dropped for international screens till the late 1990s. Film festival audiences soon wrote about excitingly hip & intriguing films coming from Argentina, now the focus of this series presented by the Austin Film Society.
